The straight and narrow path is a simple one. The path of the spirit, and if anything about the flesh is on that path, then people are off it. In short, if our thoughts are about the things of the flesh, then it is impossible to discern the things of the spirit.

Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Because two opposing forces cannot occupy the same space at the same time.

2 Corinthians 1:12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

Broad is that path to destruction, and the path to life between it, since that is the path that seeks the 'Father' in the spirit, and grace is the knowledge given from God that converts and transforms the spirit.

Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

The spirit in a man is currently focused on the things of this world, since that is all it knows. Anyone who says they're under God's grace doesn't even know what grace is. Revelation is God's grace, which is spiritual knowledge gifted by him to the seeking mind that desires to renew itself in righteousness, since that is the gift that helps regenerate the spirit. People stating that they're under God's grace only serves to highlight a person's delusions, since they have shared none of that grace, which is the main purpose for receiving it in the first place.

Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits.

The religious seem to think that it is a get out of jail free card, a reward for their belief in something that they know nothing about. 'I'm under God's grace' they proclaim, when the truth of the matter is that they're under a strong delusion.

Isaiah 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

The way of righteousness is between the blind belief in God, and the non-belief in God. Neither renew the spirit, for both ways are the way of the fool, because their foundation is in ignorance, sold to people from the wisdom of man. That is the way that men have been marked by, for they have decided that the merchandise of men is greater than the treasures given from God.

Proverbs 12:28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

The merchants of the earth turn our attention to things that are of the earth, and thus all of our desires and knowledge is of it.

Revelation 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

It is that which marks us all, the knowledge of good and evil that comes from our own hearts, knowledge which we buy off others and thus sell to others. For we buy and sell the heart's merchandise, getting rich (knowledgeable) off this world's wisdom, and yet we're poor, naked and blind when it comes to the things of the spirit. We walk in the drunkenness of our own hearts. Why is it that no one can see that is clearly explained in the book of 'Revelation'? Is it because God hasn't revealed that knowledge to them in the first place, and people assume the book is about earthly things?

Revelation 3:16-18 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

If we're not paying attention, then an over abundance of our own heart's knowledge will cause us all to be drunk. Mental health issues like depression, narcissism and anxiety are a result of the heart's drunkenness. The cares of the world.

Luke 21:34-35 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

None have avoided the snares of the heart's wantonness, and few have escaped, because they seek to use the source of the problem for the cure.

Matthew 12:25-26 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

You cannot cast out 'Satan' with 'Satan'.

Luke 2:35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

And the heart cannot be made known using the heart.

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Especially a wicked and deceitful heart which by its very nature keeps itself a mystery.

2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

A sword is needed to pierce that soul, and that sword is the word of God. Not just words in a book about God, but the word of God itself, which is a power few can comprehend, nor believe in when spoken about. It is his word that changes the state of our mind, and it is his word that corrects the mind that is stayed upon him.

Habakkuk 1:11-12 Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god. Art thou not from everlasting, O Lord my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O Lord, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.

However, they're many snares of the flesh when one is on the truth path of life, seeking to turn our minds away from the things of the spirit back onto the things of the flesh we're all addicted to.

Psalm 142:3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.

The soul in a man will fight for its survival, because it will know its time is short, and that its destruction is nigh at hand.

Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

When the mind is on the things of the flesh, it can only interpret the above as some future event on the earth. When the mind is on the things of the spirit, then it will read exactly what is written about the spirit. In seeing it will see, and in hearing it will hear, and no longer will the above be a parable to the blind mind.

Psalm 78:1-2 Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

The same goes for the whole of the 'Old Testament' and what Jesus taught..

Romans 8:5-6 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

As I've said, the straight and narrow path is about the spirit only, and when the things of the flesh get in the road, you will have to strayed off that path of life.
