The Devil or Satan, he's called a crooked serpent for a reason. Its ways are not straight, being only good, but it is crooked, being both good and evil.

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

It even has people believing it is something that exists outside of themselves, largely down to the typical abuse religion inflicts upon the minds of people. You know like having people believe in fables, you know as warned in the New Testament, not to take the very image of things written in the Old Testament.

1 Timothy 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

And that is where his seat is. In our own minds, minds full of the pollution's of the world, which then further pollute our crooked hearts.

Revelation 2:13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

And if the Kingdom of God is within, then how does Jesus behold Satan like lightning fall from Heaven, unless he is talking in parables about the spirit? as he said.

Luke 10:18-19 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Because Jesus resisted his own heart's temptations aka the Devil's in the wilderness, within. And he could only do that because he had the knowledge of the spirit, of his own mind. Of course, as we all know he and his apostles were hurt and killed in the flesh. But as said the flesh profits nothing.

John 4:23-4 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

He himself with the knowledge gifted to him by the Father, stepped on that serpent,

2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Casting out that source of wicked imaginings and intentions out of his mind,

Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

The spirit is made in the image of God, which is why it is called the 'Kingdom of God'. Not only that, the mystery of the Kingdom of God.

Psalm 91-1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

It isn't supposed to be common knowledge, as said it is a secret, and it is within your own spirit.

Mark 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

Why is it a mystery? Because Jesus used his own mind to worship the 'Father', though revelation. Others are taught about it through the flesh, via the doctrines and traditions of men, again as prophesied.

2 Corinthians 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

The words of the Old Testament are veiled to the minds of men because they haven't had the knowledge of the spirit revealed to them by the 'Father', via what Jesus taught.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Because in those days no one knew of the 'Father', until Jesus came into the flesh and do his will.

John 10:7-9 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Not by Moses teachings, not by Buddha's teachings, not by Mohammed's teachings, but by what Jesus himself taught of the 'Father' of his God. Without directly applying what Jesus taught, the book will remain sealed, and people will forever remain unlearned in these matters.

John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

Worshipping Jesus inanely, clapping and dancing in churches, and collecting money, then listening to other people speak how great he is, that really won't get anyone very far. In fact, it will be counterproductive.

2 Thessalonians 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

He doesn't need man's praise, and people will be under a strong delusion as mentioned, believing that lie. And as said before, any understanding of these things will be sealed and closed off.

Isaiah 29:11-14 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Jesus was taught of his Father, not by men, hence why he was one with his 'Father'.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Most people worship God through the flesh, or to correctly put it, via the religious indoctrination contained within their own souls.

John 8:38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

And since all people are ruled by their own soul, their own heart, it possesses people, and thus people are ruled by the lusts of their hearts. Their every thought and their every deed is from their heart, which is why it is said quite often in the Bible, that God has no respect of persons, because we're products of Satan to be blunt. Hence why he needs to be behind us.

Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God

Quite literally our 'Father' in our current state is the Devil because we don't know the 'Mystery of God'. Nor do we know the mystery of iniquity that works within all people.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

We have yet to 'Get Satan behind us', since he is in front of us, and all our deeds, thoughts and words are through him. We serve the heart's lusts of this world, and thus are conformed to it.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

As it stands, it rules our minds, a mind that needs to be renewed and transformed in its own knowledge of God, not man's idea of God. 'The Devil made me do it!' is not an untrue statement. Remember, its tree is the knowledge of good and evil. The Father tree is of life, and is very good. So to eat from that tree we must all first;

Luke 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

Jesus, finally with much in patience possessed his own soul, casting the works of the devil out of his mind.

Matthew 4:1-3 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

He called Peter, Satan once, why is that?

Matthew 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Because Peter was thinking of the things of this world with his heart and not the spirit, something which we all do without exception. So what is the devil exactly?

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful ABOVE ALL THINGS, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Who can know it indeed. It is a mystery.

2 Thessalonians 2:6-7 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

A mystery that works within us all, causing people to think, speak and do all manner of evil.

Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

So again, what is Satan really?

Proverbs 19:21 There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.

The heart, aka the soul in a man.

2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

And it's our own hearts that condemn us all in the flesh.

1 Timothy 3:6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

And people can't resist something they know nothing about. As said above, we're ignorant of its devices, of which they're many.

1 John 3:20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

So, in short, Satan is one thing in all people, us lot on this Earth, those 'Children of Disobedience'

Ephesians 2:2-3 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit (soul) that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

And it continuously gives our mind, the spirit its fruit, that knowledge of good and evil to eat, causing all people to be dead in spirit.

Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

Do people really think Satan was a literal talking serpent, I mean really? You know as preached in the 'Law and the Prophets', which people take the very image of when reading, in the oldness of the letter. Tells you in Ephesians 2:2-3 above that it is invisible like air and wind that works through all people.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

It's what we think with, it is who we have our conversation with. It is what we believe we are, the hearts thoughts, intentions, and imaginings, which is why we are all 'Sons and Daughters of Perdition'

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Even worst, most people just think they're just the body the spirit and soul are housed in, which is why that doubled-edged sword of the 'Father' is needed to divide the spirit, soul and body asunder so that we can know what and where the thoughts and intentions of the heart come from.

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

We are those men of sin, in short we are all 'Antichrist', because we all serve the law of the flesh, obsessed with all of the cares of this world.

Luke 21:34-35 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, (excess) and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

And as a snare the devil has taken over our all of our minds, and has deceived the whole world, pretty much the minute we're born into it.

Romans 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

Even as we are reading this, it is causing us to think and believe all sorts of nonsense, our memories and knowledge from the soul working against our mind, which is why it needs to be possessed, and our spirit freed from its prison.

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

And this is what Jesus came to free us from, from the captivity of our own hearts as prophesied about Jesus above. Without turning to the 'Father' within in the spirit, we'll continues to be ruled by that the law of sin with all men, which is out own hearts. That which is in a man.

John 2:24-25 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

We don't know our own hearts, and are ignorant of its devices, and thus cannot resist what we do not know, and this why people behave like we do.

Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

So that sword that we need is the 'Word of God', not just the words of the Bible alone.

2 Peter 1:19-21 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Since via other people's and your own understanding you will err in your own private interpretation.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

I personally didn't just figure this out by any great intellect you know, that would be of the natural man. And a natural man's memory can fail him, especially in old age. The spirit in a man is eternal, and it is that which needs to be renewed so that at the end it can overcome the natural man and this world..

Ephesians 3:3-4 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

And that is done by receiving revelations given from God as we turn to him in the spirit, and have the mystery of him revealed to us. Seeking FIRST the Father's Kingdom AND his righteousness, and all knowledge of the spirit will be revealed to your mind, renewing it, and transforming it.

1 John 2:26-27 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, AND YE NEED NOT THAT ANY MAN TEACH YOU: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Again, no man walking this Earth can do this for anyone, and no man can teach you these things. Many are seduced by man's doctrines though, which infect their hearts and then rule over their minds.

Luke 2:35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Like said, it is a mystery, and the goal is to make all men see what the fellowship of the mystery is.

Ephesians 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

This specific mystery needs to be revealed by God himself, since it is hid in him. The 'Mystery of God', and as said before, there is another mystery hindering all of humanity from seeing it, that has yet to be revealed.

Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.

And what does God find an abomination?

Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

An abomination that leaves the spirit desolate.

Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 
(I got that message, and now it's time for everyone else to understand)

And where is that Holy Place, that Father's house which is of the spirit?

Luke 17:20-21 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

So if the Kingdom of God is within, then hell is without, right in front of you, in fact you're standing right on in.

Job 26:6-7 Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering. He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
